#40Under40: Valerie Lawson Makes History By Taking Home The Award for Beauty and Lifestyle

When I was younger I thought beauty was all about physical looks but now, I know that beauty transcends the physical. What makes each woman beautiful is really their uniqueness, their courage, and how intentional they are about being kind. -Valerie Lawson

Valerie Lawson, popularly know as MsLawson has accomplished more with a make up brush and unique eye for perfection than most beauty stylists hope to accomplish in their lifetime.

That’s why it comes as no surprise that she added a trophy to her collection after winning the award for Beauty and Lifestyle Category at the just ended FortyUnderForty Awards 2021.

Behind the Awards

On Friday, October 8, the winners of the 2021 Forty Under 40 Award Scheme were announced at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra.

The important awards ceremony, which is being organized by Xodus Communications in collaboration with the Ministries of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and Youth and Sports, aims to identify and honor a cross-section of the country’s most influential and accomplished young business fellows under the age of forty (40), who are making an impact in the industry or sector in which they operate.

The program also aims to highlight these individuals’ outstanding achievements in business growth, professional excellence, and community involvement.

Her work

Valerie Lawson began her adventure into the world of makeup and beauty in 2010 with a brush in one hand and a palette in the other.

It was a hobby at first but after 11 years , she has built this hobby into a full fledged brand ; CVL beauty that aims at educating women to embrace their beauty and elegance.

She has styled prominent people like Samira Bawumia, the Second Lady to the Republic of Ghana and has world with world wide famous makeup brands like Maybelline.

Congratulation to this pioneering female entrepreneur on her big win!
