5 common facial cleansing mistakes you may be making

1. You are using too much cleanser.

It’s a facial cleanser not a morning face wash. Using huge dollops of facial cleanser is not the deal. A small tear drop on a cotton bud is just as effective.

2. Using the wrong cleanser.

Sometimes it’s the type of facial cleanser you are using. For best results do well to research on your skin type, be it oily, dry or combination skin. Then you find a cleanser best suited for your skin.

3. Rubbing your facial cleanser harshly on your skin.

It’s a skincare routine. Emphasis on care. So take care when you apply your cleanser. You don’t need to beat your face too much. Simple and slow gentle circles are the best ways to apply a cleanser.

4. Cleansing for too long.

Cleansing for too long can lead to compromised skin. A minute or even less can be enough of a time to apply your facial cleanser. You do not want to strip your skin of its natural oils.

5. Cleansing too frequently.

Cleansing your face morning and night sounds arduous but it’s the option that brings in the best results. But cleansing more than twice a day will need to hyper pigmentation. The plan is to save your complexion, not compromise it.
