And this is why one of our main go-tos when it comes to facial treatments is the God-given spice called turmeric.

Wait, what? Turmeric? Isn’t that just for curries and stews? Beloved, apart from its special anti-inflammatory properties turmeric is that secret beauty gift that keeps on giving. Indian brides have been known to use turmeric as a head-to-toe body scrub to brighten and exfoliate their skin before their wedding day.

Turmeric manages microorganism growth on the skin, wards off acne-causing bacteria, and it prevents other infections from spreading. It also contains powerful antioxidant properties, balances sebum secretion, and helps clean out pores.

Let’s cut the grammar. Basically, turmeric is amazing on the skin. No matter the skin type or complexion.

But how do you use it? We’ll show you how.

1. Turmeric + Flour Facial Mask for glowing skin


• Turmeric
• Flour
• Milk/yogurt
• Honey

Turmeric, Milk & Honey Mixture

Preparation and Use:

• Mix ingredients to make a paste.
• Apply thin layer of paste to face for 20-30 minutes. Leave it to dry.
• Rinse off while scrubbing face with fingers gently.

2. Turmeric + Lemon Juice for hydrating skin.


• Lemon Juice (tablespoon)

• Milk (3 tablespoons)

• Turmeric (tea spoon)

Preparation and Use:

• Mix ingredients in a bowl.

• Apply mixture to face for 20 minutes and rinse off with cold water.

3. Turmeric + Apple Cider Vinegar for acne treatment


• Apple Cider Vinegar

• Honey (1 tablespoon)

• Turmeric (teaspoon)

• Milk

Preparation and Use:

• Apply Apple cider vinegar to face with cotton ball.

• Mix turmeric powder with honey and apply to face. Let mask sit for 15-20 minutes.

• Rinse with warm water.

• If the mask leaves a yellowish tint on the face, use a milk-soaked cotton ball and daub at stained areas and wash face again with warm water.

• Repeat mask treatment twice a week for best results.

4. Turmeric + Egg for fresh face lift.


• Egg yolk

• Turmeric (pinch)

• Olive oil (teaspoon)

Preparations and Use:

• Mix ingredients to make paste.

• Rinse paste off with warm water.

5. Turmeric + Coconut Milk for skin tightening


• Honey

• Coconut milk (tablespoon)

• Turmeric (2 teaspoons)

• Mix ingredients in a bowl till it becomes becomes a thin paste.

• Cleanse face with water and then apply paste.

• Leave mask on for 20 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.
