A Degree Hotter: DJ Mensah graduates with M.A in Brands and Communication Studies from UPSA

Award-winning Ghanaian Disc Jockey, DJ Mensah has reached an extraordinary milestone in his academic journey by earning a Master’s degree in Brands and Communication Studies from the University of Professional Studies, Accra.

Known as the man who usually keeps the beats and vibes flowing as Sarkodie’s DJ and other private functions, the convener of DJ Mensah All White Party took fans by surprise when he showed up at the graduation ceremony with his graduation robe and received his certificate.

DJ Mensah joins the likes of Ghanaian musician Becca and TV host AJ Sarpong who graduated last year from the same department.

In an inspiring video shared online, DJ Mensah took to the turntables to show off his skills as the master of the turn table.

To add to the fanfare, Sarkodie joined him as he offered his unwavering support and brotherly presence to this momentous occasion.

As an artist and DJ duo, their camaraderie has been felt on countless stages and playlists around the world. Sarkodie, who has been a trailblazer in the African music industry, recognizes the significance of education in personal and professional development and has revealed that he plans to go back to school to study law.

Fans also took to the comments sections to congratulate him on his hard-earned success in academia.

Born Michael Mensah Ayenu, DJ Mensah attended the Tema Secondary School where he initially pursued a course in business before making a switch to Visual Arts.

Subsequently, he delved into the realm of Purchasing and Supply at Accra Technical University. His educational journey continued as he obtained a degree in marketing from Central University.

Expanding his horizons, he embarked on a short course specializing in DJing and Radio Hosting and Presenting at the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

To further enhance his skills, he also earned a certificate in Radio Broadcasting from RABODEF, adding to his impressive educational repertoire.

He is also the founder of the DJ Mensah Foundation which he launched it in January 2018 with a charity event which provided free health screening and motivational talks to the juvenile inmates at the Senior Correctional Centre

As the beat continues to play, and the rhythm of DJ Mensah’s journey unfolds, one thing remains clear — this is only the beginning of a new chapter in his story and we are excited to see how he leverages his new degree in building a much bigger and solid brand.
