Social media has been awash with bittersweet nostalgia since the release of the Marvel’s teaser trailer for Wakanda Forever. It feels like just yesterday the world was heartbroken by the tragic news of Chadwick Bosseman’s passing. The second installment of the Ryan Coogler directed Black Panther movie paid tribute to Chadwick Bosseman who passed away in 2020 from colorectal cancer.
The trailer opened with Nigerian afro-soul artist Tems singing a rendition of No Woman, No Cry. Did we hear Kendrick Lamar chant a hook at the end? We certainly can’t wait for that song to drop on Spotify and from the looks of it we won’t have to wait for long. The official soundtrack for Wakanda Forever is set for release (July 25th).
In a surprise tweet Ghanaian Alté artist Amaarae posted the artwork of the official soundtrack of Black Panther 2; Wakanda Forever Prologue. We do love a good tease.
The tracklist isn’t out yet and we’ve got Tems and now Amaarae on it? It’s definitely going to be one of those albums that’s going straight to the top of the charts.
The trailer featured Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o and Angela Bassett reprising their roles. Another welcome cameo appearance from the trailer was award-winning Ghana-British actress and director Michaela Coel.

Michaela Coel as Aneka in Wakanda Forever
She plays Aneka, a former captain and trainer of the Dora Milaje; a group of elite lady-warriors.

The Black Panther: Wakander Forever movie is slated for a November release.
Till then we’ll be bumping to the songs of the movie’s official soundtrack album.
