#CANEXWKND2022:Genevieve Nnaji has us in a chokehold with her first public appearance in months

Nigerian actor, director, and producer Genevieve Nnaji has made her first public appearance in months at the 2022 edition of the Creative Africa Nexus Weekend (CANEX WKND) in Abidjan.

Nnaji deleted all her posts on Instagram last year and seized from commenting on or sharing her life with fans on other platforms. Hence the shock that resonated with the crowd and social media fans when she appeared on stage to deliver her speech on driving the expansion of Africa’s creative and cultural industries.

“Creativity thrives as an ecosystem and not alone,” she said, adding that the creative industry can x4 its current $5bn it contributes to the African economy annually.

For her return, the  Africa Movie Academy Award winner wore the TSHOLA maxi dress in blue from Nigerian designer, Tifanny Amber and styled it with a straight weave.

Nigerian Senator, Ben. Murray Bruce who shared a selfie moment with the superstar also announced that he was “working on a deal with Genevieve Nnaji so that all her movies will be produced at the BMB studios and film academy at Eko Atlantic City.”
