Here are your top 15 most followed celebrities on Ghana Twitter

Social media is big in Ghana. According to Datereportal there were 8.20 million users as of January 2021. That’s an equivalent of 26.1% of the total population as of 2021.

Twitter is a favourite social media platform that’s garnering lots of engagement. The micro-blogging platform is home to many think tanks, businesses, influencers, opinion-givers, politicians and celebrities.

For many celebrities, in Ghana or abroad, having a huge followership on Twitter allows them direct access to engage with their fans. Some celebs even use the platform to contribute to social, political or national discourse.

Ghana Twitter has some celebrities with a large enough following to create ripple effects on and off social media.

Michael Owusu Addo popularly known as Sarkodie comes in at first place with 5.4 million followers. This is an artist whose built a solid presence on Ghana Twitter by posting exclusive bits of his lifestyle alongside his artistry.


2. Shatta Wale – 3.2M


Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr known by his stage name Shatta Wale is the second most followed Ghanaian celebrity on Twitter. He is prone to controversy and often takes extended hiatuses from Ghana Twitter, but that doesn’t seem to affect his popularity on the platform.

3. Stonebwoy – 2.9M

Dancehall artist Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known by his stage name Stonebwoy is one of Ghana’s top exports. He comes in third place with an impressive 2.9M.


4. Efya Nokturnal – 1.9M

Ghanaian Afrosoul Queen Efya is places in at fourth. Her latest collab The ONE with Nigerian Afropop sensation Tiwa Savage is one of the most streamed songs on Spotify Africa.

5. Manifest – 1.9M

Manifest is one of Ghana’s most prolific rap emcees. His avant-garde style is only second to his wordsmith skills.



6. Samini Dagaati – 1.9M

Dancehall legend Samini has reinvented himself more than we can count. When he’s not giving us classic tunes to groove to he’s presiding over students at the Ghana Institute of Management and Professional Studies. If you haven’t heard, he’s the newly elected SRC President. Congrats, Samini.

7. John Dumelo – 1.8M

Actor, farmer, entreprenuer and now politician. John Dumelo is a jack-of-all-trades and his 1.8M followers appreciate him for it.


8. Yvonne Nelson – 1.7M

Actress and executive producer Yvonne Nelson has been hot at the box office for years and now she’s burning it hard on Twitter. She currently has a new movie out and a Twitter followership of 1.7 million looking to see her on the silverscreen.


9. Nana Aba Anamoah – 1.6M

Media personality Nana Aba Anamoah skirts between reporter, brand ambassador to social media influencer with ease. Her 1.6M followers can definitely attest to that.


10. Joey B – 1.6M

Darryl Bannerman-Martin known by the stage name Joey B is one of the most popular Ghanaian celebrities on Twitter. 




11. King Promise – 1.5M

Gregory “King Promise” Bortey Newman has been racking up followers alongside hits this past year. He is currently at 1.5 million followers and from the look if it might be clocking 1.6 by year’s end.


12. Kwesi Arthur – 1.4M


Kwesi Arthur AKA Son of Jacob takes his 12th place with 1.4M followers.

13. Criss Waddle – 1.4M

CEO and music artiste Kweku Addai, popularly known as Criss Waddle, takes the mantle of the 13th with 1.4 million followers.

15. Kofi Kinaata – 1.3M

Highlife sensation Kofi Kinaata has been crooning for quite a while now. He positions at the 15th with an impressive 1.3 million.
