Is Alisa Hotel Tema Ghana’s latest luxe staycation?

Ghanaian-owned Alisa Hotel Tema just had its soft launch over the weekend and it seems we’ve found a new gem to pin into our Ghana travel itinerary. Tema might be popular for its motorway and its large industrial enclaves but it has a burgeoning art, music and lifestyle scene.

Ghana’s harbour city Tema is sprawling with some of the country’s top restaurants and hidden night life spots. Plus, if you’re longing for pristine white sands and tranquil beaches in Ghana’s capital then you definitely need to cruise through Tema. It’s the best route to take towards Ghana’s coast.

And now the city has finally opened up its latest luxe establishment- the Alisa Hotel Tema.

Travel influencer Akosua Shirley shared her experience of the just opened hotel. Apart from giving us the 411 on the best spots to visit and the rates to boot, Akosua Shirley creates some of the best content around Ghanaian culture and tourism. All on a pocket-friendly budget! She doesn’t call herself an Area Girl with Branding for show. If you ever need insights on soft life sites to visit while in Ghana then you should check out her YouTube page here.

Akosua posted a reel of her visit to the luxurious Alisa Hotel Tema on her Instagram feed.

We are in love with the picturesque aesthetic of mahogany and green. According to Akosua, the hotel understands the definition of soft life. She said via her Twitter page, “The new Alisa Hotel in Tema is gorgeous! The food was great, pretty rooms with the best beds, huge pool with pool bar, sky bar and the cutest lobby.”

I guess we know where our next enjoyment spot is in Accra.

Alisa Hotel Tema was designed by Ghanaian architects Mobius Architecture and constructed by Asher Glaiden Limited.

The architects shared the fruits of their work via their official Twitter page as well.

We won’t deny that Brutalism isn’t our favourite aesthetic with its cantilevered designs but the Alisa Hotel Tema’s lushly adorned exteriour and its luxe interior is any traveller’s delight.

Ghana Twitter seems just as primed as we are for this new addition to Accra’s skyline. Scroll below to peep some first reactions to Alisa Hotel Tema’s opening.

Now the question that is on our lips is…
