#KENCY2020: The wedding that broke the internet! Kennedy Osei and Tracy's luxurious traditional wedding

On the eve of Valentine’s Day, son of Ghanaian businessman and media mogul, Dr Osei Kwame Despite, Kennedy Osei took the hand of fashion illustrator and TV Host, Tracy Asante to be his wife in a wedding that has shocked the nook and cranny of Ghana and Al Gore’s internet.

The wedding which is on the lips of many Ghanaians took place at a private residence in Trassaco Valley, a plush neighbourhood in Accra. It attracted the sort of press and social commentary due to the calibre of people who attended.

Kennedy, who is also the General Manager of UTV Ghana and his team of groomsmen and grooms women first brought the internet down when images of the entourage clad in pristine-cut kaftans flooded our timelines. Not only was the wedding one full of luxury but also a resplendent display of rich Asante culture.

Osei Kwame Despite, Dr Ofori Sarpong, Roger Quartey, Father Dickson, Eshun, Tagoe Sisters, Gifty Osei, Nana Ama Mcbrown and other public figures including traditional rulers.

The groom first appeared in a traditional kente cloth wrapped over his shoulders and later changed into a sharp and crisp off-white/curry Indian-inspired kaftan with a waistcoat.

Bride’s Outfit

For the bride, she was radiant in a strapless kente gown with a cape and a bow. She spotted a curled hair, glamorous makeup and glossy lipstick by Valerie Lawson to complement her bridal aesthetic.

The reception dress was in hues and shades of baby pink with a bow on the side and a train.

Kennedy and Tracy have received scores of congratulatory messages from Ghanaians from all walks of life and fans of their brand with most speaking highly of the opulence and luxury displaced. But this is the tip of the iceberg as the white wedding which is slated for the weekend will turn the city upside down. In the meantime, congratulations to the pair, we wish them a lifetime of marital bliss.
