Kendrick Lamar in Ghana? Ghana Twitter reacts

Mr. Morale himself spotted in the heart of Accra? Word on the vine is that Grammy award-winning Hiphop artist Kendrick Lamar is in Ghana for an exclusive listening party for his new album ‘Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers‘.

His visit is believed to include the release of the album which is set for tonight at midnight the 13th of May, 2022. Kendrick Lamar’s visit is expected to also include networking opportunities between him and high profile music executives as well as Ghanaian movers and shakers in the art scene.

Social media is already hype for the release of Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers. The Rapper shared shared an image on Wednesday (11th of May) captioned “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” ahead of the album’s release.


The photograph has Lamar wearing a crown of thorns while holding a child in the foreground. In the background, Whitney Alford, his longtime fiancée holds a newborn. The photography was shot by Renell Medrano.

Lamar who is particularly private about his family has yet to reveal the name of their first child, a daughter born in July 2019, and Alford’s pregnancy was kept secret. They had not previously shared any images of their daughter.

Ghana Twitter went ecstatic as rumours of Kendrick Lamar being in Ghana made the rounds.
