Met Gala 2022: these 15 celebrities understood the Gilded Glamour assignment

It’s the the first Monday of May which means it’s the 2022 Met Gala. From Nicki Minaj tearing up in a Riccardo Tesci black feathered gown to Shawn Mendez chanelling his inner Prince Charming, this year’s gala brought in some iconic and interesting looks.

Everyone in fashion knows that the first Monday in May is one of the most important days for designers, jewellers and fashion-forward celebrities. The stars align to showcase some of their most extravagant and fancy fashion experiments.

The theme for this year’s Met Gala was ‘Gilded Glamour’ as influenced by the Gilden Age. The Gilded Age was a period in US history between 1870 and 1900 which sparked the beginning of the major economic imbalance between the wealthiest Americans and the poorest. We’re talking corsets tighter than Beyoncé-gig NDAs and flowing trains like an express railway.

The night’s events were hosted by The Harder They Fall star Regina King, celeb-couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds and Broadway star Lin-Manuel Miranda.

But the red carpet is always where the glitz and glamour happens and even the press brought some pressure of their own.

Clearly, Miss Genesis Suero understood the Gilded Glamour assignment. She did her research and brought the Disney Princess heavy with this look. Gorgeous.

Did the stars understand the assignment? What did they wear and whose did we like?

Let’s take a slide down the looks of the 2022 Met Gala that understood the Gilded Glamour Assignment.
