The 5th of the Ghana Beauty Awards (GBA) 2021 recognised over 25 beauty artists for their contribution to Ghana’s beauty and wellness industry. The ceremony was held on the 21st of November at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra. The Ghana Beauty Awards is a celebration of excellence by leading professionals and upcoming talents in the beauty industry.

The award ceremony was attended by public personalities and celebrities such as Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (MP for Manhyia South), Actress Martha Ankomah and music sensation Adina Thembi.

Rebecca Donkor, the CEO of GBA, highlighted the need for standardisation in the beauty industry. She further encouraged beauty practitioners to be customer-focused and professional. Madam Donkor indicated that statistics show that over a million Ghanaians are within the beauty industry space, and that the profession could greatly reduce unemployment if streamlined and invested in.

The award night had winners in the categories of Best Beauty Brand Ambassador, Most Promising Barber, Best Hair Colourist Best Salon/Studio, Best Spa and Wellness Centre and Best Customer Service Experience. The winners included Sacha Okoh (soaesthetics) for the Best CSR Project of the year, Asare Prince for Make-Up Artist of the Year and Ada Atayobor (vendajules) for People’s Choice Award.
