Peace Hyde wins International Media Game Changer Award at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2022

Ghanaian media mogul and Forbes journalist, Peace Hyde has been adjudged the International Media Game Changer Award at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2022.

The annual event which took place in South Africa on Saturday, 19th November 2022 was dedicated to celebrating three decades of honouring some of the world’s most inspiring women by by Glamour Magazine.

2022’s distinguished honorees include actor Angela Bassett, Megan Thee Stallion and EGOT-achieving actor, singer and television host Jennifer Hudson in the United States and in Africa, inspirational media maven Peace Hyde, joins the exclusive list of female powerhouses in Africa.

After a two-year hiatus, this year’s event powered up by Tresemmé as the headline partner was themed, “The Game Changers Edition” Honouring 12 phenomenal women who are trailblazers in their respective fields. Hosted at the picturesque Boschendal Wine Estate and by invite only, the pink carpet affair was attended by the who’s who on the South African social scene and VVIPs.

Peace Hyde was honoured for her accomplishment within the African media space including securing the first African original reality series for Netflix for the hit series Young, Famous and African, which is the number one show in Africa for the global streaming platform.

The show has been renewed for a second season. It pushes to redefine the global perception of Africa by showcasing the glitzy lifestyles of Africa’s A-listers as they love, feud and rekindle friendships. She is also the producer of the award-winning Vice Media documentary, Inside Nigeria’s push to end police brutality, which achieved global acclaim and became the winner of the UK top shorts film festival award, the Los Angeles film festival award, the Lonely wolf film festival award and the IMDb special Jurors Award.

Hyde also created the Forbes Africa TV platform along with its flagship show My Worst Day with Peace Hyde, which was renewed for 3 seasons on the CNBC Africa DSTV platform and Against All Odds with Peace Hyde which also has a two-season renewal.

The International Media Game changer award was presented to Peace Hyde by Google SA. Event partners included Hendricks Gin, Avon, Google SA, Ice Tropez, Esthederm, Nivea, Roses and Schick.
