For #Prom2k19, these students from GIS turned up in svelte gowns and dapper suits

Prom season is here again and the students from Ghana International School took this year’s edition to a different level.

If you check, Promenade dance or prom isn’t really a Ghanaian school event but it has increasingly become part and parcel of the events that herald a high school student’s exist to the University.

Available information on prom indicates that it is a dance or ball event which sees patrons attending in exquisite gowns and debonair tuxedos. At the end of the event, a Prom King and Prom Queen are crowned by popular votes. Prom has become popular due to its feature in several Hollywood movies and is constantly spoken about in the mass media.

For Ghanaian photographers, Opeimu and Adoosey who shot the event which was held at the Holiday Inn hotel in Accra, this was another opportunity to document African luxury and opulence in exemplary style.

As others complain about how foreign these events are on the twitter thread, the real beneficiaries couldn’t help but flaunt their gorgeous outfits and beautiful smiles to the camera.

Check out some of our favourite looks from the night. And don’t forget to take your future children to bougie schools. lol!!
