 Even with the Ups and downs of 2020, the fashion industry had its fair share of some good news.

The industry has had to pull its weight to make remarkable trends and Ghanaian models are definitely a key reason why the world’s eye turned to Ghanaian fashion.

 From all indications, these 14 remarkable models sailed through to the past year with flying colors and went to the bank smiling from ear to ear

 Here are the top 14 models who have made Ghana proud and had a great year.

Ottawa 

He is a Ghanaian fashion model who just became the face of fashion brand daily paper. Many Celebrities who have been spotted wearing that brand includes international celebrities like Cardi B, Minaj and more. Ottawa first made his big breakthrough on the international modelling spotlight after walking for Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2019 Menswear collection in Paris.

Julee

The name MisJulee evokes Supermodel and badass chic. 2020 was also another year that saw Julee topping the runway, hitting the covers and posing for the camera. Nadrey Laurent, Velma’s Accessories, Saki Cole, Kenneth Tetteh, Mabel Brempong, Sekbi Balogan were allm pleased to have worked with her in 2020

Oduro Kermit 

He began his career as a model with Yanfan Models and is presently working with twenty Models Management. He was a model on the runway for glitz Africa fashion week 2020  and was featured on Vogue magazine. 

Roselyn Ashkar 

 Ghanaian model, beauty pageant contestant and former radio presenter, Roselyn Ashkar began her modelling career in 2009 and has not looked backed since.

She represented Ghana in the maiden edition of Oluchi’s Africa’s Next Top Model and made it to the top 5. In 2020, she landed modeling gigs with Viva Boutique, Christie Brown, Ophelia Crossland, MOD HQ, Vlisco, and many other luxury fashion brands. And oh she got engaged to the love of her life and we got all the juice here.

Richard Sakora Awuni

Richard Sakora Awuni’s story from grass to grace is worth mnetioning and admiring. Landing in the industry accidentally kind courtesy the scouting prowess of  Ghanaian fashion photographer, M. Asephua, Awuni signed on to Boss Models, New Icon and  Lindenstaud. The Mexico-city based model went to the bank smiling with a Wrangler gig, Lacoste, Ferragamo and a Nike Campaign.

Jasmine Djang

The young Student of University of Professional Studies, Ghana was crowned Miss Malaika 2020. According to social media, she put up a tough competition for the finalists and emerged the winner. She was also the face of Pistis and Valerie Lawson’s bridal campaign.

Napari Aisha 

Ghanaian mode, Napari Aisha has had an outstanding  career and she uses her platform to create  initiatives that make the lives of women in Tamale a better one.

 She is a Peer Educator with The Urban Women Initiative, which seeks to help solve the challenges of women in rural areas. 

Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival, M magazine ( M le magazine du monde), Essence Magazine, Vogue all featured the South African-based model in their glossy pages.

Fiifi Annan 

South African-based Ghanaian model, Fiifi Annan had a great year by all standards and the images are here as proof. The Boss Model SA signed Annan worked with Bohten, The Lotte Accra, Mercedes Benz-Fashion, Mr P Sport, Zando and Elle Magazine on several digital campaigns.

Christel Katyenstroth 

Christel who is signed onto Fuse Management has got the world’s attention with huge features including SSUNDAY.CO and Ekow Barnes Editorial, Obaasima  which had its big debut on Instyle Magazine.  She also worked with Christie Brown for their A/W 20 Lookbook and strutted the runway for BIIO.

Frema Mensah 

Her Royal Blackness has continuously won her way into the hearts of designers, photographer and fashion event organizers in Ghana. The Pulse Model was featured none other than Beyoncé’s website. 

She is commended for her jet black skin and natural hair in the fashion industry. 

Michael Angelo 

Michael Aneglo is definitely the rising star of the year having just launched his career in the modelling industry. Young, fresh and exciting, he brought his signature fro and charming juxtaposition to all his gigs. It’s no wonder he landed a nomination on Global Style Icon Awards.

Brigitte Appiah 

Former Miss Universe Runner-up and model, Brigitte Appiah was Covergirl for Lightville Magazine and flirted with a number of Vogue features. The Fuse represented model took Africa and the world by storm like we predicted even as we watch from a safe distance.

Sherifa

Sherifa had a year she will not be quick to forget. Her editorial, lookbooks and ads had everyone yearning for more.

Owusu B

Cast Model Management signee, Owusu B didn’t have a bad year at all. He featured in work for Atto Tetteh, Ajabeng and Daily Paper, a dream come true for the young black king.
