19-year-old Phylis Vesta Boison has been adjudged the 2019 winner of the prestigious and popular Miss Malaika beauty pageant at an event in Accra.
Known to many as Phylis during the 3 months transmission of the reality TV Show, the third year Accounting student of the University Of Ghana, beat very stiff competition from 9 other delegates to emerge winner of the night.
Mbord Astanga, 23, a Public relations major student from the Upper East region came in second, followed by Ms. Abiba Bint-Abdallah, a 23-year-old design student from the Radford University College.
Judges for the night, the vivacious Joselyn Dumas, OAP Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku, who is a former host and chaperon, TV Heartthrob James Gardiner, Glitz C.E.O Claudia K Lumor and Business magnate Kojo Jones were convinced of Boison’s performance and intelligence on the night.
The delegates were first ushered into the National Theatre during the red carpet session where they rocked designs from various designers followed by their opening choreography amongst others.
Medikal, Kuami Eugene, Kelvyn Boy, Adina took their turns to perform to guests at the event.
She took home a car, a cash amount, wardrobe full of GTP fabrics, ambassadorial deal and a trip to Dubai
Berla Mundi and Regina Van-Helvert who are interestingly Miss Malaika alumnae were the host for last night’s event.
Several names in the Ghanaian entertainment industry have one time or the other participated in the pageant. Hamamat Montia, Ama Nettey, Giselle Addae, Tamara Dzormeku, Sharon Bridget Cofie, Deborah Vanessa, Gwen Gyimah and Nana Akua Addo are all past delegates.
