It appears Ghanaian Afropop singer, Noella Wiyaala’s talents transcends music into flamboyant and artistic field of fashion.
You can even call her the jill-of-all-trades and you will be right.
The “irrepressible“ talent of Wiyaala is revealed in a video which she shared on Facebook as she designs and stitches a garment for her next performance.
“Making a costume for my next performance. #Traditionally #inspired 🌍🦁🌍 #Roarrrrrr😜😅😜😅” she captioned alongside the video on her Facebook page
The outfit is a beautiful two-piece crochet outfit in black and yellow with beadings at the helms. For the bodice, she embellished it with cowries and strings of beads.
Wiyaala who is also known as the “Lioness of Africa” is celebrated for her vocal prowess and the only musician in the world singing in her local dialect of Sissala.
Currently on a world tour, as she promotes her new album, Sissala Goddess, she is expected to perform at festivals and events including the Fusion Festival in Larz, Germany where she will wear outfits like these.
The energetic Ghanaian firebrand has revealed in several interviews that she makes most of her garments and jewellery for performances and sometimes for the red carpet by hand.
According to her, the aim is to help highlight the culture of the people from her home region in the Upper East of Ghana.
