Can we begin to talk about how Samira Bawumia glowed in a Pistis dress at Ghana’s 62nd Independence Parade

It’s high time we called “a spade a spade” and officially declare Mrs. Samira Bawumia, wife of the Vice-President of Ghana, the Most Stylish Ghanaian Woman of our time.

The beautiful Second lady was ravishing in her white kente and hijab as Ghana celebrated 62 years of nationhood at a historic parade in Northern regional capital of Tamale. It was attended by politicians, security personnel, members of the diplomatic corps and throngs of Ghanaians from all walks of life

As it is with many of her looks, the Law & Sociology graduate from KNUST sent heads turning and tongues wagging as she appeared on the screens of many homes and the internet alongside her husband, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, President Akufo-Addo and first lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo who were all dressed to their nine’s at the event.

The ethereal Kente outfit which was made by celebrated Ghanaian womenswear brand, Pistis created a lot of buzz online. According to the designer, the outfit was inspired by her Fulani heritage.

“The ever gracious and beautiful @sbawumia look was inspired by and paid homage to her Fulani heritage.” a statement on its Instagram account said

A proud Muslim, Mrs Bawumia styled her look with the hijab as a sign of reverence to her husband and her religion spotting glowing makeup from Valerie Lawson.

She also opted for a beaded red and white purse, ablue watch, kente head wrap and red lipstick to complete the look

Samira Bawumia continues to shape Ghanaian style and fashion through her laudable patronage of Ghanaian creatives and design brands as she follows in the foot steps of other stylish public figures in the past such as the late Fatia Nkrumah, Mrs Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, Dr. Joyce Aryee and many other Ghanaian women
