Ghanaian brides in their traditional wedding outfit that will inspire you

When we wrote about the 7 top reasons why Ghanaian weddings are the definition of superb one thing we highlighted was the Kente element which represents our beautiful culture.

Kente is sure to make a regal appearance at any Ghanaian weddings because technically we are Kings and Queens so the bridal party has to wear regalia that are reserved for such personalities.

Unlike brides of the past, the new batch of Ghanaian brides are changing the way they dress up for their marriages, putting a lot of attention, effort and money into their traditional wedding outfits.

Despite being a fabric that was originally created by the Akan people who live in the Ashanti, parts of Eastern, Brong Ahafo, Western and Central regions, it is patronized by every Ghanaian tribe. Whichever the ethnic group of the bride, you’re sure to find a specific Kente that represents her heritage and identity.

We’ve curated some of our favorite wedding looks of Ghanaian brides in their stunning outfits on their big day. Be inspired.
