25-year-old Chelsea Tayui wins Miss Universe Ghana 2020

The Miss Universe Ghana Organisation has announced 25-year-old Chelsea Tayui as Ghana’s 2020 representative.

Tayui was unveiled at an event that took place at the Labadi Beach Hotel and was televised on Joy Prime at 8 pm local time to the nation.

A native of Keta in the Volta Region, She was crowned by the reigning Miss Universe Ghana, Akpene Diatta Hoggar, National director of the organization, Menaye Donkor and former titleholder, Ruth Quashie amidst pomp and pageantry.

Music performances by Chayuta and Cina Soul characterised the eclectic night which was hosted by Mauvie Hayford.

In a post on Instagram, Ms. Chayuti expressed her thoughts and joy on being crowned Miss Universe Ghana 2020. She wrote:

“I would like to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, without whom this would not be possible. To the Miss Universe Ghana team and leadership, Mrs Menaye Muntari, I thank you for your excellence and professionalism. I thank my parents and my family without whom I cannot soar. I am committed to working tirelessly to bring a spirit of compassion and service to the people of Ghana and to represent my beautiful country at the international level with all the glory that it deserves. I am humbled by the trust you have bestowed upon me and I will wear it with all the honour and dignity that it deserves. I am here to serve. 👑 ✨❤️”

A communications executive currently working with a Charity organization, Chelsea Tayui will represent Ghana at the international Miss Universe pageant slated for early next year.
