Sarkodie is inviting the international community to visit Ghana as part of the year of return

When Ghana’s best rapper, Sarkodie, won the fist ever BET Best International Flow act at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards, he used the opportunity to sell Ghana to the world.

In a short speech, he gave shoutout to his beautiful daughter, Adalyn Owusus Addo a.k.a Titi and implored the diaspora to visit Ghana as part of the year of return festivities.

“I just want to say thank you to the Almighty God. To family, this one is for my lil girl Titi…. I think Africa has always had it and it is about that time. This year is the Year of Return and I will urge each and every one of you here to take a trip back home.” he said.

He also wore a silk floral bomber jacket from Ghanaian designer, Atto Tetteh to the event at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Georgia, United States

“Shouts to one dope Ghanaian designer for my jacket @attotettehofficial and my stylist @trendyrail ” he wrote on Instagram

Sarkodie faced stiff competition from the likes ofNigerian rapper; Falz the Bad Guy, Ghetts from the United Kingdom, Kalash from France, Female rapper; Little Simz from the UK, South African hip pop prodigy; Nasty C, Tory Lanez of Canada to snatch the coveted award.

Ghana’s year of Return is a program spearheaded by Ghana’s government to reconcile people of black descent and the diaspora to Africa through series of events and programs. It was launched by Ghana’s President, Nana Akuffo-Addo earlier in the year to mark 400 years after the first slaves arrived in America.
