What you need to know about Sarkodie’s appointment as Year of Return Ambassador

If you asked us there’s really none befitting of the role of Year of Return Ambassador than Sarkodie and yesterday, Ghana’s Minister for Tourism and the Creative Arts, Barbara Oteng-Gyasi affirmed it.

Sarkodie (born Micheal Owusu Addo) has seen it all and done it all when it comes to entertainment in Ghana earning him the title as the “Most decorated rapper” in Africa.

The “Saara” crooner was announced as the “Year Of Return” ambassador amidst cheers and jubilation at the Creative Arts Industry forum organized by the Ministry of Tourism at the National Theatre in Accra.

He was also presented with a citation for his lofty achievements and contribution to the creative art industry in Ghana.

According to sources, the appointment was in response to a clarion call he made to black entertainers and others when won the Best International Flow at the BET Hip Hop Awards in early October.
