This is how the Asantehene was received in the U.S ahead of his U.N speech

This is the King of the Asante Kingdom found in Ghana, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

He is the 16th royal to ascend the Ashanti Golden stool and is the second person after the founder of the Asante Empire to carry the name Osei Tutu.

A great modern king spearheading several initiatives in health, education, community and other fields, he’s been selected by the United Nations to deliver a speech on the Culture of Peace at the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Forum of the 25th Anniversary of the Adoption of the Declaration and Program of Action in New York and at the African Union in Washington D.C.

As part of his visit, Otumfuor who celebrated his 20th Anniversary of his ascension, will also engage other high profile personalities on several topics including highlighting the methods he has use to bring peace in Ghana, the Ashanti region and the volatile Northern region.

The king arrived on Saturday, August, 31, 2019 to a rousing welcome by his Asante subjects in Washington, DC and was received by Ghana’s Ambassador to the USA, H.E Dr Barfuor Adjei-Barwuah.

 Images which were shared on the Embassy’s Facebook page show the monarch in the company of Nana Owusu Appia-Dankwah Kwandahor, Manwerehene of Amoafo Traditional Area, Nana Kwame Ampem Darko the Asantefoohene of Washington Metro Area, Nana Pokua, the kontihemaa of Washington Metro Area, Nana Kusi Boadum I , Chief of Domeabra, Nana Asuah Amoako II, Fumesuahene and Representatives of the Asante Association in the Washington Metro Area.
