This law student made history as valedictorian for the 2020 University of Ghana graduation

University of Ghana Law student, April Amanda Nutakor’s name has gone into the history books as Valedictorian for the 2019/20 graduating class.

Law can be a really excruciating course leaving its students frustrated and dejected but this hasn’t affected the likes of Amanda who graduated with an impressive Final Grade Point Average of 3.84.

Her record-shattering GPA also makes her the first law student to achieve a 3.8+ GPA since 2012 and the first law student since 2010 respectively.

Nutakor who has been a top student all her life was also the best General Arts student at her alma mater, The Masters Senior High School in North Legon.

In an extraordinary congregation which was held virtually, the outgoing head of the School of Law Blog and Website Committee gave an inspiring speech which was aired from the Great Hall of the University for Youtube and social media.

“2020.Cheers to a brighter future!,” Nutakor captioned on her Instagram

According to the University website, 133 students of the University of Ghana School of Law, University of Ghana Medical School and University of Ghana Dental School were present at the ceremony.

Amanda who entered the University of Ghana Law School in 2016 also held played pivotal roles including member of the School of Law Moot and Advocacy Society, International Programmes Office volunteer and am AISEC volunteer where she worked with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 8 Project in Rwanda.

Amanda reportedly plans of pursuing a masters in Law and starting her own fashion business in future.
