Fashion insiders are applauding Christie Brown for their historic Virtual show

Luxury Ghanaian fashion brand, Christie Brown Ghana has set the pace for the fashion industry with its first virtual show.

Following in the footsteps of Congolese designer, Hanifa who shook the core of the fashion business with a digital show that involved 3D clothes and models, Christie Brown’s virtual premiere had its own specialities.

Premiering the show at the Sandbox Beach Club in Ghana, guests watched the launch of their Spring Summer collection from the comforts of their home with their A-listers treated to branded edibles and menus from Sandbox.

The live premiere was heralded by a live DJ set at the Christie Brown store in Osu. It was followed with an Instagram live interview session which saw Industry leaders including Glitz Africa’s Claudia Lumor, Omoyemi Akerele and Elaine Mensah share their thoughts on the brand’s evolution.

Former America’s Next Top Model finalist and activist, Maame Adjei who was radiant in a metallic gold number from the SS20 collection hosted the session.

Fashion insiders and friends of the brand including Afua Rida, Renee Q, Maria Borges, Aku Akuffo, Laura Eboa, Ekow Barnes, Valerie Obaze and many more all shared snippets of the show on their social feed.

In a short speech before the premiere, Creative Director of the brand, Aisha Ayensu said they had planned an exciting collection prior to the outbreak on the pandemic and it had forced them to do a little self-introspection.

“For us, it’s very important the brand remains an example of our resilience, our pride and our heritage, and our identity. Our commitment is to show the world, the many layers of the African woman,” Ayensu explained.

The new collection features their signature embroidery, tie and dye fabrics, wax-print and a mixture of their dearly beloved looks which have come to be synonymous with the brand.
