Aside fame, one of the prerequisites to staying relevant as a celebrity is a high number of organic followers. Not withstanding, there are veterans, celebrities who have continuously worked to stay relevant by maintaining proper engagement with their followers and producing fresh and creative content.

Yvonne Nelson – 6.8 million followers

The mother of one, CEO of YN Productions and Just Like Mama Daycare School, as well as owner of YN Island is the second most followed Ghanaian celebrity coming right after Jackie Appiah with 6.8 million followers. “Kabutey” as he is affectionately called is next on the list with an Instagram following of 4.2 million followers. On his page he promotes his music whiles sharing beautiful pictures of himself and his family, most especially his beautiful daughter, Titi.

Nana Ama McBrown – 3.8 million followers

StoneBwoy – 3.4 million followers

Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known by his stage name Stonebwoy, is a Ghanaian Afropop, dance hall and reggae singer. He places 7th on the list of most followed Ghanaian celebrities on Instagram. As a musician, his page is mostly about promoting his music as well as sharing photos of his wife, Dr Louisa and his two kids, Jidula and Janam.

John Dumelo – 3.3 million followers

Ghanaian actor, farmer and politician affiliated to the National Democratic Party, John Dumelo ranks number 8. He has built a well respected brand and name for himself on Instagram where he mostly spends his time on campaigns and political sensitization and education.

Kevin Prince Boateng – 3 million followers.

Kevin-Prince Boateng is a professional footballer who plays for Serie B club Monza based in Italy. He is best known for his footspeed and dribbling skills on the football pitch. He is the 9th most followed personality on Instagram in Ghana with 3 million followers.

Yvonne Okoro – 3 million followers

At a tie with Kevin Prince Boateng and also with 3 million followers is the scintilating Chinyere Yvonne Okoro, half-Ghanaian and half- Ghanaian actress. She is a philanthropist and the CEO of Desamour Company Limited. Most of her time on Instagram is spent on posting her fashion looks.
