The city of Accra and its designers are being celebrated in British Vogue’s October Issue

Ghana and its capital city of Accra is finally receiving the fashionable nod it deserves from the global fashion industry.

Joining cities like Lagos, Johannesburg, Dakar and Nairobi who are constantly enjoying good press and investment, Accra is also being noticed for what it brings to the table when it comes to fashion and style.

In British Vogue’s October Issue under the leadership of its Ghanaian born British edfitor, Edward Enninful, the magazine is celebrating the cosmopolitan city which still has very traditional roots and the Year of return in a series of editorials.

The Cover girl for the issue,Binx Walton and photographer, Juergen Teller shot the whole series in Accra and was styled by Poppy Kain who featured several local Ghanaian brands such as @studiooneeightynine @christiebrowngh @_otteng @hazzaofficiale alongside other globally recognized fashion brands.

“Binx Walton travels with photographer Juergen Teller to Ghana. As an African-American on her first trip to the African continent, Binx shows how, for many of us, the concept of home is multifaceted – and that roots matter.” Enniful wrote.

Prime areas that were featured in the issue include Makola Market, Oxford street, the National Theatre, Kempinski hotel and other vicinities.
