Colourful hair and afro-futuristic designers are having a huge moment in the fashion industry

Think the new phase of fashion and you wont be leaving colourful hair or flashy jewellery out of the list.

Propped up by celebrities, musician and influencers, the streetwear and afro-futuristic genre is enjoying some much-needed attention and hype in the new era.

The fashion and youth culture scene now dictates the trends of the industry, a situation which was pretty different 5 to 10 years ago when it first began.

In Braperucci Style’s latest editorial collaboration which was shot by Ghanaian contemporary fashion photographer, Mel Arthur, we explore the synergy of afro-futuristic fashion, hip-hop and colour.

Designers including VIGI Force and Jermaine Bleu are currently into production of the baggy jeans and multi-pocket shirts with ribbon swag.

In the photographer’s press notes to us, he says the editorial was “inspired by young Ghanaian fashion designers breaking through the industry one outfit at a time”.

Jermaine who started in 2015 for instance has already amassed some top clients in the industry including Maria Borges, Wavy The Creator, Efya and many others into his tribe.

VIGI Force also enjoys massive endorsement and patronage from Darko Vibes, Dance God Llyod and an endless list of young talents.

If you want to see what the future looks like then you’re already living in it.

Check it out.
