President Akufo-Addo and Rebecca Akufo-Addo were style goals when they took the Covid-19 vaccines

Ghana month started on a high note as President Nana Akufo-Addo and his wife, First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo made a strong case for made-in-Ghana outfits at the COVID-19 first vaccination event.

The first couple who are the first to get their COVID-19 Vaccine received their injection at a public event at the 37 Military hospital both wearing blue outfits.

Ghana, a week earlier was announced as the first country to receive 600,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines to help in the fight against the Corona Virus.

According to the president, only a selected number of citizens including key members of the Judiciary, Parliament, public officials frontline health workers, elderly statesmen and other categories will be prioritised in the vaccination process.

President Akufo-Addo who has been the subject of social media commentary wore a blue short sleeve shirt with military cuts over pants. Walking beside the president garbed in a long flowy paisley dress was Mrs Akufo-Addo, who is celebrated for her conservative yet stylish fashion choices.

Fashion and culture experts over the course of the President’s first tenure and current administration couldn’t help but point out the symbolic messages and cultural relevance of the first couple’s style choices.

It is uncertain who makes these outfits for them but a social media user listed Miss Thereasa Addison, a Director of Culture & Tradition at the Presidency as responsible for the president’s outfits.
