Draped in a breathtaking custom gown by Xtra Bride Lagos, Ini Edo’s look was a tribute to the roots of the industry she holds dear.
The ensemble, an intricately designed 3-D masterpiece of velvet black and beadwork, featured a dramatic tiered mermaid train that swept the floor.
This year, Ini chose a creative team rooted in Nigeria to bring her look to life. This included world-acclaimed stylist, Swanky W and make up by @_looksbynganga
Reflecting on the moment, Ini Edo shared in a post on Instagram: “This industry was built on love and passion, blood, sweat, and tears. From our early DVD home video days to global recognition, we now stand toe to toe with our counterparts around the world.”
This year’s Red Sea International Film Festival welcomed filmmakers, actors, and creatives from around the world. It served as a melting pot of ideas, cultures, and shared aspirations for the future of cinema.
Her presence at the Red Sea Film Festival coincided with exciting conversations about Nollywood’s future and the increasing recognition it garners from international audiences.
“The sheer amazement of being recognized by the people we used to, and still, look up to fills me with pride. I am proud of every single person contributing to the growth of our industry. We will continue to thrive, soar, and tell our original Indigenous stories until we take our rightful place in the world of filmmaking,” she added.
Ini kept her makeup glamorous, opting for rich tones that complemented her radiant skin, while her hair was swept under a beaded turban. Her accessories were minimal but impactful, featuring elegant statement earrings, allowing her regal gown to remain the centrepiece.
This wasn’t just a red carpet look; it was a celebration of Nollywood’s progress and resilience. Ini Edo once again proved why she’s a force to be reckoned with in both film and fashion.
