Apag's "Jungle Justice" to be screened at the Largest Black Film Festival in the World

Jungle Justice, the award-winning directorial project from Ghanaian cinematographer, Apag Annankra has been selected to be screened at the Pan African Film and Arts Festival.

The 28th edition of PAFF which is the biggest Black Film Festival in the world is slated for February 11-23, 2020 and will screen over 150 films selected from over 40 countries.

Some of Black Hollywood’s big names including Denzel Washington, Sidney Poitier, Danny Glover, Idris Elba, Mo’Nique, Kevin Hart, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker, Phylicia Rashad, Lou Gossett, Jr., Issa Rae, Taraji P. Henson, Trevor Noah, David Oweloyo, Omotola, and Chadwick Boseman have attended the festival in the past.

Apag’s Jungle Justice is historic because it is one the few times a Ghanaian movie has made the cut and Apag’s first time at the festivals. The film which has already bagged some big awards both home and abroad will be screened on Mon, Feb 17 @9:40 pm and Fri Feb 21 @1:15 pm.

The good news was announced via the photographer’s Instagram page and it read “We’re so excited and honoured to present our award-winning short “Jungle Justice” at the Largest Black Film Festival in the World this week! @paffnow

The movie’s selection was met with congratulatory messages from all corners of social media.

Jungle Justice speaks about the “heart-rending tale of the horrendous instant justices in local communities of Ghana.”

JUNGLE JUSTICE was produced by Regina Van-Helvert, was directed by Idowu Okeniyi, starring Ghanaian actors and actresses including; Regina Van-Helvert, Yvonne Nelson, John Dumelo, Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, Peter Richie, among others.
