BP: 15 years ago you launched what has begun a reputable fashion brand as a young Ghanaian designer. Could you tell us how it all begun for you?

Crossland: I come from a family that’s had stints with Fashion and accessories for over 60years. I think this is a major motivation with what I do. After years of playing with dolls as most girls did, I started sewing on my own before enrolling in a fashion school. I always knew I wanted to be a fashion designer, hence my decision to attend Joyce Ababio School of Creative Designs in 2003 and completed in 2004. The same year OPHELIA CROSSLAND DESIGNS was born.

BP: What inspires Ophelia Crossland to be the award-winning womenswear brand it is?

Crossland: What we do at OPHELIA CROSSLAND is to treat and deal with clients based on their individual uniqueness. I sincerely believe that is our Hallmark. As a result of this, we’ve had Amazing referrals over the years.

BP: Could you take our readers through how you came by the new collection “In Love By Summer”

Crossland: I personally love Summer. It’s like waking up every morning with a smile. Summer is simply happy times and people gleefully welcome summer. I also love everything natural .; that’s the motivation for the Seasons Collection. The savanna part of Ghana also informs our choice of colours.Ophelia Crossland is about class, style and authenticity. That’s what resonates with us, so decided to highlight that with our new collection. The season is about staying trendy and classy.

BP: How important is a conscious design process to your brand ad the new collection??

Crossland: To stay relevant and authentic, one needs a signature to achieve that. I find it necessary to personally hands-on with Ophelia Crossland creations. This enhances our designs and is the focal point of what we do.

BP: What has been the general feedback from the public since the release of this collection??

Cropssland: The feedback has been Awesome. We are currently working on satisfying clients who would want to have our outfits for this season, which we are working extra hours to meet the deadlines. We also had quite a number of repost by individuals and bloggers on various social media platforms.
