Ghanaian visual artist Sylvernus Darku is creating art amidst the Coronavirus lockdown

We all must admit that we are all getting really bored as various countries go on lockdown to help flatten the curve against the Corona Virus spread.

Despite all the recommendations shared most people are still unable to do anything fun or exciting as they stay home.

In Ghana, the situation is no different as the government has announced a two-week lockdown in various parts of the country which has greatly impacted so many industries including the creative and gig sector.

The nature of the creative industry is set up in a way that allows artists to create with or without a human medium and this lockdown has allowed most creative delve deeper to harness their talents.

Ghanaian visual artist, Sylvernus Darku of Team Black Image and 7th Cedis Witness is one of such people who is creating with his environment despite the boredom.

In his message to the Braperucci Africa social media team, he acknowledged that he was bored out of his wits but had used the opportunity to create art with his food to encourage people to eat right to boost their immune system against COVID-19

“This photo series I called the “Locked down on my plate” is playing with the idea of being in lockdown but what we have to be locked down on more in our diet to help us fight covid-19 if in any case, we caught the virus,” he wrote.
