Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean you can neglect your hair. You’ll end up with Ed’s hair than when you braided if you do so.

You might have to braid if you’re not going to wear your hair out. No matter which protective style you choose, these are some sure-fire tips to protect your hair from breakage.

Moisturise

Dry thing breaks easily. Same applies to our hair.  If your hair is too dry, it is much more prone to breakage. Get a spray bottle and fill it with equal parts aloe vera juice and water.  It Strengthens and repairs hair strands. Aloe vera contains vitamins A, C, and E. All three of these vitamins contribute to cell turnover, promoting healthy cell growth. Your hair will thank you for this.

Do not keep it in for too long

You might think you’re doing yourself good by letting your hair be for 6 months but all you’re doing is setting yourself up for damaged hair.  Naturally, oils and dirt build up on our scalp, cause those hard bumps of dirt when you unbraid.

The longer you leave your braids in, the harder it becomes to unravel said hard knot.

If you want to leave your protective style in for more than 1 month 2 weeks, we suggest you do a scalp wash with shampoo to get rid of the buildup so your scalp can breathe and grow strong hair.

Do not rush while taking your protective style down.

Honestly, where are you going to? Taking down protective styles is a tremendous job, and it requires time and patience. If you do it in a hurry, you will lose more strands of hair cause your hair to feel thinned out and light.  Next time you take your protective hairstyle down, take your time, watch a movie while you do it. Give your hair your time.

Try these tips and let us know how they go. Have a great hair day.
